Germany Became Largest European Union (EU) Nation To Legalize Recreational Cannabis Use
On April 1, 2024, Germany became the largest European Union (EU) country to legalize recreational cannabis usage, amid opposition from lawmakers and medical associations. Adults over the age of 18 can now carry up to 25 grams of dried cannabis and grow up to three marijuana plants at home.
