An Introduction to One-off New Zealand Residence Visa Pathway

After months of speculation, waiting, and anticipation, the NZ Government has announced a rare and one-off residence visa pathway for temporary work visa holders. Those eligible for this new visa category include some long-term critical-purpose visa holders arriving in the country between September 2021 and July 2022. 

Applicants can include their partners and dependent children in the residence application. The minimum criteria to be met include that applicants must have been in New Zealand in September 2021. The ones on an eligible visa must have already applied for an eligible visa on or before September 2021. 

This criteria is mainly meant for work visa holders and hardly applies to visitors or Recognized Seasonal Employment visa holders.
