An "orange" alert for heavy rain has been announced in Pune for the next 3 days, indicating the potential for severe weather conditions. Residents are advised to stay informed and take necessary precautions.Four people have died, and schools are closed as the IMD issues an orange rain warning, causing rivers to surge; a red alert has been issued for Raigad and Ratnagiri  of th western Ghat.

The IMD predicts heavy rainfall in Maharashtra, with an orange alert issued for Pune and the surrounding areas of the district like Lonawala. Khopoli, Sangli, Satara, Kolapur. Kokan and Maval region of the Mumbai Road. Schools in Bhor, Velha, Maval, Mulshi, Khadakwasla area of ​​Haveli taluka and schools in Pune city have been ordered to remain closed on July 25.


Pune experienced heavy rainfall, recording 114.1 mm. Due to the rising water levels, 3,000 citizens were evacuated from areas near the Pavana and Mula rivers. Authorities are urging residents to remain cautious and follow safety guidelines.


Heavy rainfall at Khadakwasla Dam led to the release of 35,000 cusecs of water into the Mutha River yesterday morning. This caused widespread flooding in societies, settlements, and bungalows along the river. Many areas experienced full water levels, resulting in significant damage to property and infrastructure. Emergency services are working to assist affected residents and assess the extent of the damage. Authorities are urging people to remain vigilant and follow safety advisories.

Since the flood situation in Pune is not yet under control, Deputy Chief Minister and Pune's Guardian Minister Ajit Pawar visited the Ekta Nagar area yesterday (Thursday, 25th July) to review the situation. During this time, citizens presented their difficulties to him.

    Heavy rain has led to severe flooding in the society, causing numerous bikes to become submerged in floodwater. This has created significant problems for bike owners, as many vehicles are damaged and rendered unusable. Residents are struggling to cope with the situation as they assess the extent of the damage to their property. Authorities are advising people to move their bikes to higher ground to prevent further loss.
