Introduction of CAT EXAM 2024

CAT means the common admission test: The CAT 2024 exam will be held on 24  November 2024 in three slots. The exam will be a computer-based test in over 170 cities. In India, the CAT score is valid for admission to 21 IIMs and others to MBA colleges and business schools. The exam is conducted by one of the top six IIMs, on a rotation basis every year. CAT Exam 2024 will be conducted by IIM Calcutta in India. The official notification of the CAT Exam was released on 28 July 2024. The CAT 2024 registration process started at iimcat.ac. on 1 August 2024 and the last date is 13 September 2024. This year, the CAT exam fee has increased yet again.

CAT Eligibility 2024

CAT 2024 exam, candidates need to fulfill the following eligibility criteria to appear in the exam::

• Candidates must have completed their bachelor's degree with a minimum 50 % aggregate or equivalent CGPA (45 % aggregate for SC, ST & PWD/DA category) from recognized universities.

• Candidates in the final year of their bachelor's degree/equivalent qualification or awaiting results can also appear for the CAT 2024 exam.

• Candidates having a professional degree like  (CA/CS/ICWA/FCAI) with the required percentage are also eligible.

CAT 2024 Registration

• Click on 'new candidate registration'

• Enter name, DOB, nationality, phone no. and email ID

• Fill CAPTCHA code & verify registration with the OTP received

• Login with the provided CAT 2024 ID shared via email to fill out the form

• Enter personal & academic details.

• Upload a recent passport-size photo & scanned signature

• Select preferred IIMs, courses, and test cities

• Pay the application fee of CAT via credit/debit card or net banking

CAT Exam Pattern 2024

There is no change in the CAT 2024 pattern. The CAT exam is an MCQ-based test of 120 minutes. In the exam, candidates solve 66 questions from VARC, DILR, and QA. Some of the key highlights of the CAT 2024 exam pattern.

• The CAT exam 2024 will be held in three sessions

• Each session will be of 120 minutes

• There will be a time limit in each section i.e 40 minutes per section

• The CAT exam will divided into three sections – VARC, DILR, and QA

• 3 marks will be given for the correct answer

• 1 mark will be deducted for an incorrect answer

• There will be no negative marking for both non-MCQs and skipping questions

• The total number of questions will be 66

• Total marks will be 198

• It is not mandatory to attempt all the questions

The CAT question paper is unique and different for every session but the sectional weightage is the same. However, overall, the difficulty level of the CAT question paper is moderate to high, every year.

CAT Admit Card 2024

The CAT admit card is the compulsory document for appearing in the entrance exam. It is issued to registered candidates only,  who will register for CAT 2024. Here are some points on how to download the CAT 2024 admit card:

• Open the CAT website: iimcat.ac.in

• Click on the 'login' tab

• Enter the CAT 2024 application number and password

• Go to the 'admit card' section

• Click on 'Download'

CAT Answer Key 2024

CAT answer key 2024 will be released 3 to 4 days after the exam. The answer key will be in the form of a candidate's response sheet. Important  steps to download the CAT 2024 answer key and response sheet:

• Visit the official website of CAT 2024

• Click on the 'login' tab

• Enter CAT login ID and password

• Click on 'CAT 2024 answer key' on the screen

• Click on the 'download' icon to save it as a PDF

The CAT answer key objection window will be opened for 3 to 4 days. If a candidate feels that the official answer key has errors or doubts then they can challenge it by filling an online form. The answer key will be re-examined and revised by authority if required.

CAT Result 2024

CAT 2024 results will be announced at the IIM CAT website within 20-30 days of the exam. The CAT scorecard will have sectional and overall marks as percentiles. Here’s the process to download the CAT 2024 result:

• Log on to the CAT website iimcat.ac.in

• Click on the 'CAT 2024 result/scorecard' tab

• Enter the CAT application number and password

• Click on the scorecard section

• Click on download & save the PDF of the CAT 2024 scorecard
