Spring washers, which have axial inflexibility and are used to help fastening or loosening due to climate. Locking washers, which help fastening or loosening by precluding coiling gyration of the fastening device; locking washers are generally also spring washers. In proposition split washers( aka lock washers or spiral spring washers) are supposed to work by squishing flat between the nut and the mounting face when you strain them. At this point the sharp edges of the washer are supposed to dig into the nut and mounting face to helpcounter-clockwise gyration.
