After the COVID-19 pandemic, the demand for skilled healthcare workers in New Zealand has increased significantly. That is why Immigration New Zealand has successfully introduced a new work-to-residence pathway for care workers. This pathway may be available by the end of 2023.

This pathway supports the increasing demand for support and care workers due to New Zealand's aging population. To become eligible for the New Zealand care workforce work-to-residence visa, the applicant must have worked in the care workforce sector for at least two years. Also, the employer must be accredited and pay at least level 4.
