Halo Infinite's Operation: Fleetcom Brings Back Classic Game Modes

Halo Infinite's upcoming update, Operation: Fleetcom, set to release later this month, will include the return of several popular game modes from past Halo games. While the update promises a wealth of new content, longtime fans of the franchise will be excited to see two fan-favorite modes making their debut in Halo Infinite. Halo Infinite officially launched in December 2021, and over the past several years, developer 343 Industries has faced challenges in developing the game as a live-service experience.

Despite these challenges, Halo Infinite has received impressive quality-of-life improvements and significant updates. The game has marked many firsts for the series, including the introduction of a battle pass and seasonal content updates. Operation: Fleetcom is the latest in a long line of updates and is packed with new features and gameplay tweaks that players won't want to miss.

One of the most exciting and unexpected additions in Operation: Fleetcom is the inclusion of VIP and Headhunter, two classic Halo game modes. VIP, a mode that hasn't been seen since Halo 3, tasks two teams of four with guarding their own VIP while attempting to eliminate the opposing team's VIP. Also making a comeback is Headhunter, a mode first introduced in Halo: Reach, the last Halo game developed by Bungie. In Headhunter matches, players compete to collect and score the most flaming skulls. Skulls are dropped by players and added to a team's score, but are lost upon death. Much like VIP, Headhunter has been absent from the rest of the Halo franchise since its debut.
