The Only Cricketer From Pakistan Selected in The BBL Draft is Usama Mir

The 2024–25 Big Bash League (BBL) and Women's Big Bash League (WBBL) drafts are over, and Usama Mir, a Pakistani cricket player, is the lone player chosen to compete in the Australian men's league.

Even though Pakistan has 69 male and 11 female cricketers available, only one leg-spinner has been selected for the league. The Melbourne Stars selected Usama in the third round of the BBL draft. He played for the team in the 2023–24 season.

The BBL, scheduled to begin on December 15, 2024, and run through January 27, 2025, preferred international players who could play the entire season without experiencing any problems with No Objection Certificates (NOCs). Pakistan's players are restricted by their obligations to the national team, and their league participation is frequently contingent upon NOCs.
