Rambagh Palace was originally built in 1835 A.D, when it was meant to be the living quarters for the wet nurse of Sawai Ram Singh II, the child of the royal family in Jaipur, who would later rule in Jaipur. At the time, it didn’t have the name Rambagh Palace. It was refurbished in the following years, to be used as a guesthouse and hunting lodge for the royals, while Maharaja Sawai Ram Singh II went away to England to finish his studies.
