Harnessing the power of Wind
For a cleaner future
India’s wind energy sector has shown consistent progress. The expansion of the wind industry has stemmed in a strong ecosystem, project operation capabilities and indigenous manufacturing base. The country currently has the fourth highest wind installed capacity in the world with total installed capacity of 39.25 GW (as on 31st March 2021) and has generated around 60.149 Billion Units during 2020-21.Commissioned Project
70 MW Wind Power Project (Gujarat)
Gujarat, with its vast potential for renewable energy, especially wind and solar, continues to lead the way in implementing clean energy projects As of May 2024, the state boasts an installed wind power capacity of 11.8 GW, contributing to its total renewable energy capacity of 25.9 GW.
In May 2022, Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Limited (GUVNL) issued a 500 MW Wind-Phase III Bid, where Juniper Green Energy successfully secured a 70 MW wind power project. A Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) was signed in December 2022, and the project has since been commissioned as of June 2024.
