CAT stands for the Common Admission Test. The CAT 2024 exam is scheduled to take place on 24th November 2024 in three time slots. Over 170 cities will host the computer-based exam. The CAT score will be valid in India for admission to 21 IIMs and other MBA colleges and business schools. It is conducted every year by one of the top six IIMs, on a rotational basis. CAT Exam 2024 shall be conducted by IIM Calcutta in India. The official notification date of the CAT Exam was released on 28 July 2024. The registration process for CAT 2024 started on 1 August 2024 at iimcat.ac.in and the last date is 13 September 2024. For this year also, there is an increase in the CAT exam fee.

CAT Eligibility 2024

the candidates have to satisfy the following eligibility criteria to appear in the examination:-

• Candidates must have completed their bachelor's degree with a minimum 50% aggregate or equivalent CGPA 45% aggregate for SC, ST & PWD/DA category from recognized universities.

• Also, all Candidates in the final year of their Bachelor's degree/equivalent qualification or waiting for the result can also apply for the CAT 2024 exam.

• Candidates having a professional degree like  (CA/CS/ICWA/FCAI) with the required percentage are also eligible.

Registration for CAT 2024

The Registration form of CAT 2024 is available on the official website. Candidates are required to register for the exam by paying the fee. Check below in detail, the process to fill out the CAT application form 2024.

• Click on 'new candidate registration'

• Enter name, DOB, nationality, phone no. and email ID

• Fill CAPTCHA code & verify registration with the OTP received

• Login with the provided CAT 2024 ID given via email to fill up the form

• After which aspirants have to fill up the personal & academic details

• Upload a recent passport-size photo & scanned signature

• The candidates will have to choose preferred IIMs, courses, and test cities

• The CAT application fee is to be paid via credit/debit card or net banking

CAT Exam Pattern 2024

There is no change in the CAT 2024 pattern. In the CAT exam which is an MCQ-based test of 120 minutes, Candidates solve 66 questions from VARC, DILR, and QA. Some of the key highlights of the CAT 2024 exam pattern are : 

• The CAT exam 2024 will be held in three sessions

• Each session will be of 120 minutes

• There will be time limit in each section i.e 40 minutes per section

• The CAT exam will divided into three sections – VARC, DILR, and QA

• +3 marks will be given for the correct answer

• -1 mark will be deducted for an incorrect answer

• There will be no negative marking for both non-MCQs and skipping questions

• The total number of questions will be 66

• Total marks will be 198

• It is not compulsory to attempt all the questions

CAT Question Papers

The CAT question paper is unique and different for every session but the sectional weightage is the same. However, overall, the difficulty level of the CAT question paper is moderate to high, every year.

CAT Admit Card 2024

The CAT admit card is the compulsory document for appearing in the entrance exam. It is issued to registered candidates only,  who will register for CAT 2024. Here are some points on how to download the CAT 2024 admit card:

• Open the CAT website: iimcat.ac.in

• Click on the 'login' tab

• Enter the CAT 2024 application number and password

• Go to the 'admit card' section

• Click on 'Download'

CAT Answer Key 2024

 CAT answer key 2024 will be released 3 to 4 days after the exam. The answer key will be in the form of a candidate's response sheet. Important  steps to download the CAT 2024 answer key and response sheet:

• Visit the official website of CAT 2024

• Click on the 'login' tab

• Enter CAT login ID and password

• Click on 'CAT 2024 answer key' on the screen

• Click on the 'download' icon to save it as a PDF

The CAT answer key objection window will be opened for 3 to 4 days. If a candidate feels that the official answer key has errors or doubts then they can challenge it by filling an online form. The answer key will be re-examined and revised by authority if required.

CAT Result 2024

CAT 2024 results will be announced at the IIM CAT website within 20-30 days of the exam. The CAT scorecard will have sectional and overall marks as percentiles. Here’s the process to download the CAT 2024 result:

• Click on the 'CAT 2024 result/scorecard' tab

• Enter the CAT application number and password

• Click on the scorecard section
