Everest Base camp Trek - 14 Days itinerary

Everest base camp trek is the amazing trek in Khumbu region Nepal where you can enjoy the mind-blowing view of Mahalangur range. The classic route to Everest base camp encompasses forest, bank of river, suspension bridge, wooden bridge, moderate uphills and downhills. The trekkiers should be experienced hikers to do EBC trekking without difficulties. The best way to complete the ebc trekking is preparing the trek properly before starting the trek.

The brief itinerary of Everest base camp trek

Day 1: Arrival in Nepal

The trekking to Everest base camp trek begins after your arrival in Kathmandu, Nepal.

Day 2: Thrilling flight to Lukla and trek to Phakding

We will wake up early in the morning and be ready to get into Lukla flight. If the flight is from Manthali aiport then we should wake up around 1 :00 am and drive to Ramechap. After reaching Lukla we will take a rest for a while and start our trekking towards Phakding and reach there after around four hours.

Day 3: Trek to Namche

After having breakfast in Phakding we will trek to Namche. It takes around six hours to reach Namche from Phakding. We will walk through uphills and downhills, suspension bridges and Sagarmatha national park before reaching Namche.

Day 4: Acclimatization day in Namche

We should gain altitude and return to low altitude to acclimatize with higher elevation. Therefore, we will trek to Khumjung village and return to Namche to acclimatize. The amazing view of Mount Everest, Ama Dablam and many more peaks of Mahalangur range makes the hiking great.

Day 5: Trek to Tengboche

After having breakfast in Namche village, we will trek to Tengboche. It takes around six hours to reach Tengboche passing through an easy route, Tengboche monastery and different viewpoints. We can enjoy the amazing view of mountains from the trekking route.

Day 6: Trek to Dingboche

It takes arounf six hours to reach Dingboche from Tengboche. The reduced vegetation, uphills and downhills and increasing altitude makes it quite difficult to trek to Dingboche.

Day 7: Acclimatization in Dingboche

We should take rest in Dingboche with short hike to Nagarjun peak to acclimatize with high altitude. Trekkers can encounter the amazing view of mountains from Nagarjuna.

Day 8: Trek to Lobuche

After having breakfast in Dingboche, we will trek towards Lobuche. The flowing rivers, amazing view of mountains and pasture is best part of the trek to roam around. 

Day 9: Trek to Gorekshep and hike to Everest base camp

Finally we will reach Everest base camp after waking three hours for Gorekshep and two hours for Everest base camp. The last destination of EBC trekking welcomes us with great view of mountains and landscape.

Day 10: Trek to Kalapather, enjoy the view of mountains and return to Gorekshep and trek down to Pheriche

Day 11: Trek to Namche after having breakfast in Pheriche

Day 12: Trek to Lukla passing Monjo village, Phakding and bank of Dudh Koshi

Day 13: Flight back to Kathmandu or Manthali and drive to hotel. We can celebrate the completion of trek after reaching Kathmandu.

Day 14: Final departure from Nepal

Everest base camp trek is one of the popular trekking that takes 14 days to complete but we should have extra days for buffer. The Lukla flight may delay unless the sky is clear to take off so extra days are required to overcome the bad weather. It is always best to do EBC trek in autumn and spring.
