Batch type Asphalt Plant

Batch type facilities in asphalt plant produce hot-mix asphalt in a “batch” at a time. This means ingredients are weighed up individually, then mixed together and dispensed into a truck or storage equipment on a “batch” basis, one batch at a time.

Major components of an asphalt batch mix plant include a cold-feed system, asphalt storing & supply system, aggregate dryer, mixing tower, and emission-control system. The plant tower includes a hot elevator, screen decks, hot bins, a weigh hopper, asphalt weigh bucket, and a pugmill mixer.

Drum type Asphalt Plant

Drum type facilities in asphalt plant produces hot mix asphalt continuously. Measured amount of cold aggregates and hot asphalt is continuously fed in the drum of an asphalt plant. Cold aggregate are fed into the upper end of the dryer, and the hot asphalt is added near the middle of the dryer where it mixes with aggregate, which has already been heated and dried.

Major components of an asphalt drum mix plant include a cold-feed system, asphalt storing & supply system, drying cum mixing rotary drum, slinger and load out conveyors, dust collectors, and operation and control systems.
